How can my facility partner with The Hortence Project? What will it cost?
Reach out to us directly! We’re happy to provide information, schedules, waivers, and anything else you need to make a partnership possible.
The Hortence Project is a proud not-for-profit organization sustained by donations. Our dogs and services are fully funded by generous donors, at no cost to those who use them.
Where is my donation going? Is this an accredited NFP?
Every donation is directed exactly as specified by the donor on the fund allocation form. Beginning November 23, 2025, The Hortence Project will publish financial reports quarterly.
We are currently applying for not-for-profit accreditation in the United States and will provide updates on our homepage throughout the process.
Where can I apply to volunteer? Will I be paid?
As The Hortence Project gets off the ground, volunteer opportunities will become available through an application process. Details about how and where to apply, as well as the types of positions available, will be posted soon. Thank you for your continued patience.
Because The Hortence Project is funded entirely by donations, all volunteer positions are unpaid.
Can my Dog become a Service dog for Project Hortence?
Due to liablity and complications, The Hortence Project is not accepting canine applications to its program.
How does Project Hortence train dogs?
Project Hortence provides accredited psychiatric service dog training. Trainer certifications are available on our staff page. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions about our accreditation.
How can I donate?
Fill out the donation form on our Donate page to make a contribution by bank account, credit card, or Apple Pay. The form allows you to choose where you would like your donation to be allocated. Please feel free to include our organization on your tax return.
What benefit could a service dog have to eating disorder recovery?
This is one of our most frequently asked questions. Eating disorders are rarely just about food. Many people with eating disorders also experience underlying mental health conditions, such as anxiety, that can contribute to disordered eating. All of these conditions can be detected an mitigated by a service dog.
